Just received this letter. The BBC should tell it's operatives to be more polite.

The envelope was even worse. Written on that, in bold caps, were the words,

"ACTION REQUIRED IMMEDIATELY"

Some vod sites now have a big screen version that's better suited to watching on a tv rather than a PC.

Web enabled STB's

We've seen tv companies putting tv shows online, now the web is being brought to a tv set. So your not restricted to watching net tv on the PC, it can be on the tv set. We've long had PC's with a tv out of course, but some new devices take things further. There's the Telsy BLOBbox, which uses Linux, and in addition to letting you surf the web has some prearranged web tv. Have a look at the details here,

There are others that do similar stuff, such as the SlingCatcher, from the same people who do the Slingplayer. And there are web enabled tv's from the major manufacturers, like Phillips, Sony, Panasonic and Samsung. Info on them is on these companies sites.

...wants to confiscate your PC! Lilly Allen, known by many as 'Lilly the Stink' says the only way to stop music piracy is for everyone's PC to be destroyed. She's fed up of people listening to her singing without giving her any money, though why anyone would want to hear her voice, let alone pay for it, is a surprise! Some in the music business thought her suggestion a bit drastic, but she started to cry so they told her what a nice girl she is. Anything to keep her quiet!

We do have a tradition of not regarding people as guilty until it's proved they are, including allegations of illegal file sharing, but as Lilly points out, what are human rights of others worth when she wants to get her own way?

And she completely, utterly, denies that she bared her boobs in public to get government ministers so salivating with lust so they'd change the law to suit her greedy aspirations. And she's even prepared to tolerate us having a PC in our home as long as we all give her lots of money, so, as she says, her demands are entirely reasonable. She's just a hardworking girl trying to make an honest living from blackmail, and no reasonable person can object to that!

ITV

Again much of its content from analogue and digital channels is here, and available for 30 days. There is also old content available

Channel 4

At www.channel4.com/watch-online. It should be noted that 'live' tv is available here, which does require a licence. However, if you go to the 4od page, catch-up is available for 30 days. Like ITV they have an archive, though not all of it is free.

Five

Shows from Five, Five-US and Fiver. Only works on IE or Firefox. There is much free content, and some that requires payment. Though the latter does have some shows before they are broadcast on tv.
