TVL Lwtter

Just received this letter. The BBC should tell it's operatives to be more polite.
The envelope was even worse. Written on that, in bold caps, were the words,

"ACTION REQUIRED IMMEDIATELY"

BIG SCREEN

Some vod sites now have a big screen version that's better suited to watching on a tv rather than a PC.

There's the iPlayer at,

www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/bigscreen

YouTube at,

www.youtube.com/xl

And the Wii has several such options, and a big screen Google search, with large text, at,

http://wii.clusty.com

That's all for now folks.

Web enabled STB's

We've seen tv companies putting tv shows online, now the web is being brought to a tv set. So your not restricted to watching net tv on the PC, it can be on the tv set. We've long had PC's with a tv out of course, but some new devices take things further. There's the Telsy BLOBbox, which uses Linux, and in addition to letting you surf the web has some prearranged web tv. Have a look at the details here,

There are others that do similar stuff, such as the SlingCatcher, from the same people who do the Slingplayer. And there are web enabled tv's from the major manufacturers, like Phillips, Sony, Panasonic and Samsung. Info on them is on these companies sites.

MORE TV NEEDING NO TV LICENCE

Now that I've deleted the Channel 4 posts, as noted in previous post, let's get back to tv you can watch in the UK without a licence being needed. So, for a site with lots of film and tv shows on vod, look here,

http://www.jinni.com/

It's a fascinating site, not only with a big collection of content, there with rights holders permit, but you can search it according to your taste. Good site!

New blog

I've started a new blog about C4 pay offs, it can be found in my profile under that title. So I'm deleting the posts relating to it here, so I can devote this blog to tv without a licence, which was its original purpose.
